Hey, this is nice: The Washington Post named District Comics one of the top 10 books of 2012. Nick Sousanis and I have a story in it…I’m happy with how it turned out, and glad to be in such good company.

Wish for today: ‘comics’
I wish ‘comics’ wasn’t used as shorthand for The Superhero Industrial Complex (meaning, Marvel and DC and those trying to compete on Marvel/DC’s home turf).
I won’t get my wish, but I do get to say it in public. So thanks for that, world of tomorrow!
Education Week’s “Top 15 Graphic Novels for the Science Classroom”
It’s an honor to be on Education Week’s list (and four times, at that!), and it’s a delight to see so many more comics about scientists.
In 1997 there were zero.

EarthSky 22: “Richard Feynman is still awesome”
EarthSky.org/radio aired a podcast interview with me a few days ago, and somehow I missed it. Maybe you did too.
Even if that doesn’t fill you with regret, there’s a lot more than just me on the show (good news!), but they still titled the episode as a whole “Richard Feynman is still awesome”. If you listen in, you’ll find out that I agree.
Meanwhile, over at Nature…
I continue my week of shameless self-promotion with a piece published in
Nature. It’s short, but Marc asked a lot more
great questions than he had room to present in the print version. We
talked for two hours, and he taught me at least a half-dozen things
about my own book.
